Retaliation.

Retaliation occurs when an employer takes an adverse employment action (demotion, reduced pay or hours, negative performance review or termination) in response to legally protected activities such as complaining

about discrimination or harassment, inquiring about the wages of similarly situated employees, or reporting violations of California and federal statutes and regulations. Retaliation occurs when the employee's protected activity motivated the employer to take an adverse action against the employee.

Retaliation is the most common employment law complaint in California.
