Unequal pay.

California is in the vanguard of making the slogan “equal pay for equal work” a reality.

California’s Fair Pay Act is one of the toughest, most aggressive equal pay laws in the

country. The Fair Pay Act puts the burden on employers to show that they were not discriminating against female employees or persons of color by paying them lower wages than others doing substantially similar work. The Fair Pay Act also protects employees from retaliation for inquiring about the wages of their peers, and prohibits businesses from

asking employees about their prior salary.

Lemmon Employment Law & Conflict Resolution is proud to be on the vanguard of the fight for fair pay practices.
